Happy NaNoWriMo!

This is just the annual reminder that this month is National Novel Writing Month!

Every year, I make sure to take the time to either pump out something new (which usually ends up in a digital drawer to not be seen without some major revisions– which is fine, it’s important to get SOMETHING written!) or to revise something I have. For the past several years, this has been my first novel. (Well, the first novel I intend to publish.)

At the time of writing this, I’m taking another look at some features of the novel to make sure that plot threads make sense. (Does this character show up both here AND THERE? At the same time? Even though the two locations are supposed to be days away from each other by car?!)

BUT. With hope, by the time you read this, I’ll be done with the second draft of my novel! (Which I will entrust to some of my closest friends before I can look at it again for yet more revisions or shopping around.) That means: I’ll be focusing on my other writing work and new ideas for the first time in several years. Which I think is really exciting!

I hope that you also are taking the time to write the stories you want to tell (even if they aren’t novels) this month. If you DO want to take part in the official NaNoWriMo push, you can find all the information here. It’s not too late to put some words down on the page and get writing!

The blog will also be pretty dead for December as that’s usually when I take a winter holiday. I hope to be back to regular posting in January 2024!
